Terms of Service
Last updated: September 4, 2026
These terms govern your use of Standraft (standraft.com). By using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Standraft.
1. What Standraft does
Standraft checks a document you upload against a formatting standard (such as APA, MLA, IEEE, ISO 690, ГОСТ 7.32, ДСТУ 3008, or a university guideline you provide) and can produce a corrected copy. It automates formatting — margins, fonts, spacing, page numbers, and similar rules — using a combination of a deterministic rule engine and, for reading university guidelines and formatting citations, an AI model.
Standraft is a formatting aid, not a substitute for your supervisor's or department's final review. Style guides are sometimes applied differently between institutions, and individual departments may have unwritten preferences. Always do a final check of your document yourself, especially the sections we flag as needing manual attention (such as a missing references section).
2. Accounts
You can use the free formatting-check features without an account. Registering gets you a discount on the paid AI guideline analysis and lets you save your uploaded guidelines for reuse. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide an accurate email address.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have the right to submit
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, payment requirements, or other technical restrictions on the service
- Use automated tools to abuse the guideline-analysis feature or any other part of the service in a way that imposes unreasonable load
- Use the service to attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to our systems
We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the documents you upload. We don't claim any ownership over them, and — as described in our Privacy Policy — we don't keep a copy after processing. You're responsible for having the right to upload whatever you submit, including any university guideline documents (most institutions permit students to use their own guidelines for their own coursework; check your institution's policy if unsure).
5. Paid features and payment
The document formatting check, the marked-up report, and the corrected file are free. The AI-powered analysis of a university guideline is a paid feature, priced as shown at checkout, with a discount for registered users. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, our reseller and merchant of record — your purchase is subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms in addition to these terms. See our Refund Policy for cancellations and refunds.
6. No guarantee of formatting perfection
Standraft aims for accuracy, but formatting standards are sometimes ambiguous or applied inconsistently between institutions, and a document's structure can vary in ways our rule engine doesn't anticipate. We don't guarantee that a corrected document will be accepted without further changes by your instructor, department, or institution. The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Standraft and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including — but not limited to — a document being rejected by an institution, lost time, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
8. Changes to the service or these terms
We may update these terms or change, suspend, or discontinue features of the service. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
9. Governing law
[Governing law and jurisdiction to be added once the operating legal entity is registered.]
